Peter Brandstaetter was born on the 25. 07 1957 in Spittal/Drau. Between the ages of 17 and 25 he carved wooden sculptures, and he made more then 40 traditional carinthain wooden “Perchtenmasks”. After this he became a construction leader working internationally, and he no longer found time to work as an artist. For over 25 years he took a break from his artistic work.

When he started to run his own business, he found his way back into Art. It was as if his amazing talent erupted like a volcano. Since 2002 he dedicated himself fully to his new way of life and he created a variety of sculptures, torsi, portraits on contemporary subjects. It is the many different kinds of material he works with and his outstanding talent that make his work especially interesting. He works in ceramic, concrete (cement), different stones, woods, metals and glass.
